Real Madrid’s Brazilian superstar, Ricardo Kaka, has underlined yet again his desire to achieve a lot with Los Blancos. The Galactico midfielder even went on to admit that winning the treble with Real Madrid was very much his priority and that scooping another Ballon d’Or award only comes in second place.

Speaking to Spain’s leading sports magazine, Marca, Kaka revealed:

“We are going for the treble. My dream is to lift ‘the Tenth’ [Champions League title] in Madrid, but I know that that competition will be the most difficult to win,”

As Real Madrid’s new coach Manuel Pellegrini, Kaka also tipped Barcelona as the team to beat. He continued:

“Barca deserved to win every trophy that they won last season. And in order to eclipse them, we will have to be at our very best,”

Before emphatically stating: “To be honest, I’d rather win [the treble] than to pick up the Ballon d’Or again.”

The ceremony was one to remember, indeed. The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium was filled with over 40,000 fans wanting to witness the arrival of the 2007 World footballer of the Year, Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite Kaka.
Supporters couldn’t stop chanting and screaming loudly in excitement over Kaka’s introduction on the stage.

The noise only came down when the new signing began to speak. After hugging Real Madrid’s president Florentino Perez, Kaka declared in a very happy mood:

“Thank you president, good evening to all Madridistas. This is very special for me. I’m very happy to take my career here to Real Madrid,”

“There is nothing comparable to the history of this club,” Kaka continued before concluded:

“ Hala Madrid!”

This was quickly followed up with cheers from the crowd. Kaka then signed a ball before presenting his jersey for the first time in front of everyone. Kaka will wear the number 8 in Real Madrid as he succeeds to Steve McManaman, Michel, Ruben . The 27-year-old Brazilian playmaker didn’t want to carry Zidane’s number 5 retired jersey.

The number 5 will now be owned by Fernando Gago, who used to wear the number 8 shirt last year. Watch the video below to get a nice feel of how the ceremony went yesterday. The dream of many has now been realized, Ricardo Kaka IS a Real Madrid player!

Kaka after his Medical

AC Milan’s former playmaker, Ricardo Kaka, is to be unveiled as a Real Madrid player later tonight at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Reports explain that Real Madrid arranged for Kaka’s flight from Johannesburg to the Spanish capital which includes a transit in Amsterdam.

Speaking before his trip, Kaka told AS, the media which indicated this report:

“I’m sure it will be an unforgettable day in my career.

“I hope everything will turn out well and I am very happy to be flying to Madrid.”

The former AC Milan player has just passed his medical, and a statement on Real Madrid’s official website read:

“Kaka has passed his medical checkup prior to his official presentation scheduled for 20:30 CET at the Santiago Bernabeu,”

“The player underwent a complete battery of tests performed by Real Madrid’s Medical Services team at Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital.

“Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite “Kaka” landed at Madrid’s Barajas International Airport at approximately 7:30 this morning. The first stop on today’s agenda was Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital, where he arrived at 9:30 accompanied by his father.

“Kaka then underwent the required medical checkup, which he passed with flying colors according to Real Madrid’s Medical Services team. Tests included blood and urine samples, an electrocardiogram, an echo, an MRI, a thorough locomotor test and x-rays.

“Chief of Real Madrid’s Medical Services, Carlos Diez confirmed that Kaka is the perfect example of a young man who takes good care of himself and does everything possible to stay healthy. Today’s tests confirmed that the player is in perfect condition to play top-class football as proven in the Confederations Cup.

“These tests complemented those already performed in Brazil. We included some new protocols including a biomechanics exam that will allow us to keep track of the player’s body, prevent future injury and optimize his performance. Kaka, like many other Real Madrid footballers, is a fine specimen of a player.”

Brazil, Conf. Cup winners

Later on, Kaka thought he had given Brazil the equalizer. His header crossed the goal line before Tim Howard punched it away. But the referee wrongly denied Kaka from having his third goal of the tournament. All the same, Brazil went on to win the game as Fabiano completed a brace before Lucio netted the winner from Elano’s free kick.

So Brazil succeeded in defending their title and Kaka won the Golden Ball award for being voted as the best player of the tournament. We say “Congratulations, Kaka for winning this prestigious award!”
